When it comes to being a poster child of electric vehicles, no one is quite beat the Tesla Co-Founder and CEO, Elon Musk.
So when he tweeted earlier in the day about India being the largest market for solar power.
India commits to sell only electric cars by 2030. It is already the largest market for solar power. https://t.co/EGBNTPzmE5

Anand Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, sort of threw a challenge/invitation to Elon Musk, asking him to come to India. Where Mahindra Electric is currently the sole electric car manufacturer.
Time you got out here Elon. You don't want to leave that whole market to Mahindra do you?? The more the merrier–and greener..! https://t.co/IPoA9viDRN

Mahindra Electric currently sells e2O in India and is planning to come out with a slew of electric vehicles soon, while Elon Musk isn’t sure as of now when Tesla can come to India, due to India’s sourcing and manufacturing norms, which will likely place huge import duty on Tesla’s cars (click here to read more about it).
It would be interesting to see how Elon Musk reacts to this and even more interesting would be if Tesla speeds up its plan to enter the Indian automotive market with its electric vehicles.
Like Mr. Anand Mahindra said, more the merrier and greener, and the Indian Electric Car Market badly needs competition!
