BSNL has launched what it is terming as an unlimited broadband plan for just Rs. 249 a month!
Under this plan, users will get 2 Mbps speed till 1 GB usage and thereafter, 1 Mbps. There are no FUPs and users also get free phone calls between 9 pm to 7 am from Monday to Saturday and free calling throughout the day on Sunday.
The plan is only available to new customers and is valid for the first six months. Thereafter, the plan would be changed to BBG Combo ULD 499.
While it is heartening to see BSNL offering such a plan to its users, after facing stiff competition from JIO and other private operators. We feel such low speeds negate any benefits of having an unlimited plan. Since the users would be better off getting a 3G or 4G connection, which would likely offer better speed, with the option of having the mobility.
Government through its phone companies like BSNL and MTNL really needs to push for faster internet speed across India, in order to make digital India a fast possibility, rather than a slow loading dream!
