From June this year, Indian Railways is going to launch the premium Tejas Express between Mumbai and Goa with state of the art features and convenience. In a bid to provide comfortable and luxurious experience for passengers heading to the popular tourist destination.
Tejas Express will have 20 coaches, with executive class and chair class. In a first for the Indian Railways, these coaches will have automatic doors and secured gangways (corridors between coaches), just like in the case of metro trains.
Passengers can also expect to enjoy delicious cuisines curated by celebrity chefs, Wi-Fi, magazines and snack tables, tea and coffee vending machines, along with individual LCD screens for entertainment as well as displaying travel and safety related information.
Toilets too will get a huge makeover with bio-vacuum toilets, sensor-equipped automatic taps, and hand dryers.
Tejas Express will also come with integrated braille displays, digital destination boards, and electronic passenger reservation charts.
After the initial launch of Tejas Express on the Mumbai – Goa route, Indian Railways is also planning to introduce it on the Delhi – Chandigarh route, which sees a lot of regular and in particular, NRI crowd. Willing to pay a bit more for the comfortable journey.
